Euthanasia: Moral or Immoral

Last Updated 2014-02-23 - 01:58:25 (CET)
According to www.OurHappySchool.com, euthanasia is also known as, Physician-assisted suicide or the angel of death complex is the deliberate advancement of a person's death for the benefit of that person and, until now, a widely disputed argument.

For me it’s IMMORAL , because the implication of the Christian doctrine of creation is that life is a gift from God. The only appropriate response for the gift of life is gratitude to God, and we show this gratitude by living in accordance with the intentions of the giver. A gift is both a benefit and a trust and to abandon our trusteeship is to deny that God is trustworthy.29 One expression of our stewardship is our willingness to live in the face of illness and death, to demonstrate that life can be endured as well as enjoyed and to make a gesture to the life giver that, even in our illness and dying, we can trust and be trusted. And the doctrine of creation reminds us that we are creatures and that our existence requires the constant care and trust of our Heavenly Father and of our fellow human beings.

People who support euthanasia often say that it is already considered permissible to take human life under some circumstances such as self-defense - but they miss the point that when one kills for self-defense they are saving innocent life - either their own or someone else's. With euthanasia no one's life is being saved - life is only taken. Euthanasia is a rejection of the importance and value of human life.
