The Internet and the demise of music sales?

Many people have many views on whether the Internet is causing the demise of music sales, and the music industry? Well for what it's worth, my view is that technology, if used in a way that's appropriate can only help most situations and issues not being addressed by using hi-tec solutions.

Music and music sales are possibly an exception to this. However the upside is that now many talented musicians who wouldn't have been previously heard now can be. It's levelled the music industry playing field and introduced some great indie music and therefore I welcome it. I'm pleased to see extraplay is again working on the promotion of new music and I'm looking forward to hearing new musicians and their fantastic music once again on extraplay.com.
